Message from Greg Bendian - best known as leader of the Mahavishnu Project (sounds equivalent to Chester Thompson leaving Weather Report for Genesis)

Hello Friends,

I have some exciting news to share with you.

I have joined the Gabriel-era Genesis repertory band, THE MUSICAL BOX as drummer and backing vocalist.

Many of you already know about this internationally respected group from Canada, my lifelong obsession with progressive rock in general, and the early music of Genesis in particular.  Now, I will actually be performing some of my most-loved music with this incredible band - the only one of it's kind to be endorsed by Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks and all of the original members of Genesis.

THE MUSICAL BOX will tour throughout Europe and North America this fall performing "Selling England By The Pound," "Foxtrot," and a rare "Nursery Cryme" show.

As a result of this new commitment, I will be powering down my jazz-rock repertory ensemble and labor of love, THE MAHAVISHNU PROJECT for the rest of 2007 after our two concerts in September.  It's possible that THE MAHAVISHNU PROJECT will resume playing occasional concerts soon after the New Year.

I'm very excited about this new musical challenge and I hope you will have the opportunity to hear and see THE MUSICAL BOX in one of our upcoming concerts.

Sincerely,
Gregg B.

If you have to choose between "Foxtrot" and "Black Selling", you should choose "Black Selling". The show is much longer and it was never played in Europe by the genuine "Genesis". Of course, you will miss "Get'em Out", "Coastliners", "Hogweed" and "Salmacis".

But you'll get the whole of "Selling" (except "After The Ordeal), "The Musical Box", "Watcher", Supper's Ready", "The Knife". A difficult choice, right ?

since it might well be the last time "The Musical Box" will ever perform (there are comments for a long time already about this) that if they come to your town (Rome in this case)?, I can only recommend to go to both shows.

Cheers.
