Well I've made some music...actually, a lot of music. Some of it totally playful, some just recorded skits with my friends with effects, but some that are quite progressive. I sometimes do ambient stuff, experimental stuff, some more 'structured' stuff, and a lot of spacey stuff. I'm just having fun, and I don't take myself seriously, so don't expect much.

if you'd like to hear, my page is here. Unfortunately, I had to reduce the sound quality to be able to upload it to myspace, and I know that for some strange reason everything is generally quiet, and one of the better songs stops suddenly in the middle. I'm trying to fix all of that right now...Well, honestly, I'm not, but I like to say that I am Wink.

Great ambient sounds (like the flute in beasts heart), also some great playing.  Morn was a cool listen, same with Desolation.  I can really feel the names of the songs while listening to them, which is great.  Also liked the instruments in Temple of Ice.  Overall pretty darn good.

Why thank you. Most positive feedback I get from my pop-lovin' friends is either sarcastic of insincere. I appreciate that.

Thanks, I actually just put up another song, but listening to your songs kinda helped me think of a name for me song.  Because the names of your songs matched how they felt, I listened to my newest one and named it after how I felt.  Thanks for..indirectly..but directly...oh I dunno, but thanks.

An intriguing title does wonders. It creates the headspace...the picture that the listener has in his mentality as he begins to listen.

And what did you name the new one?

Forever We Are Trapped.  The second half of the song is based around two moving guitar parts that get all mixed up and altered and I felt that it made an almost trapped feeling, plus theres a very dissonant guitar solo that adds to the odd feeling.

By the way, I have to ask, what instrument is that in Temple of Ice?  It sounds like a harpsichord but I can't quite tell.  It's very cool though.

At the beginning? There's a bit of throbbing organ, but the rest is just acoustic guitar...I don't even recall adding any effects to it! It's funny because I can't play guitar for crap and I was just goofing around for about an hour before I came up with that little simple thing, and had to do a looot of editing to get rid of the rest.

And also, earlier when you said "good playing"....I'm actually only playing all the drums, some of the bass, recorder, and that little guitar part. The rest (piano, synth, most guitar, a lot of bass) was written on garage band, which is like guitarpro (if you know what that is) but has much better voices.

BTW your new song kicks ass.

I like it a lot. Although ELP isn't listed in your influences, it sounds like Emerson goes RIOApprove

LOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOL that's a huge compliment if you ask me. Thanks!

I REALLY wish I could upload songs over 10 minutes, cause of I've got some good ones...and some on there had to be scaled down...

In fact...this thread is better suited for the "Get the Word Out" forum.

Josh, I'd appreciate if you could put a name (artistic name, I mean) in the topic's title... unless "Me" is the name you're going to use. Wink

Well I can't change that now (I actually did realize that mistake as soon as I made this topic) and I can't really say "For next time..." because I can't see the point of making more than one thread about myself. I'm not that selfish. Nevertheless, I'm very sorry about that.

"Me" is a bit of a silly name for a project, innit?

(If you're going to change it, the name I'm using right now for the project is Joshua Scammell...but I'm thinking of getting a proper band name.)

No problem... I'll change to Joshua Scammell until you find a proper band name. Smile
