Topic: DT-Rudess Era (Excluding SFAM) Posted: August 03 2007 at 17:46 |
After SFAM DT released these 4 albums.
I think they hit their peak with SFAM, then plummeted with Six degrees, released the average "Train of thought", then the good "Octavarium", then the excellent "Systematic Chaos"
So, IMHO, I would rate them
4 Six degrees
What is your view?

Six Degrees easily for me, and next Octavarium. Then Train of Thought and Systematic Chaos behind, I'm not sure which I think is better at the moment.

1 Chronicles 13:7-9
Then David and all Israel played music before God with all their might, with singing, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on cymbals, and with trumpets.

WaywardSon I'm with you all the way. Same order.
For me SDOIT is too long (boring).

Systematic Chaos (their best since Scenes, and their most progressive album ever)
then 6 Degrees, Train, and Octavarium (their worst album, even worse than FII)

Train of Thought was a great bombastic package.
Followed by the pretty good six degrees, decent systematic chaos and the dreadful Octavarium.

I'm gonna go with Train of Thought here. My problem with 6DoIT is that I much prefer the second disc ... the first disc contains too much filler IMO.

1. Tie between Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence and Octavarium 3. Train of thought
and last, the dreadful disappointment otherwise known as: 4. Systematic Chaos.

I can't get enough of Systematic Chaos and it's my favourite out of the choices mentioned. I may change my mind when the dust settles though.
