Actually, I am English. I never saw the first film, but "Meet the Fokkers" was pretty dire, as was "Hostel".

I actually really enjoyed 40 Year Old Virgin. But that's just me, I'm an obscure guy.
I just finished watching "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels." Has anyone ever seen that movie before? It was quite enjoyable.

If memory serves me correctly, I've seen Lock Stock and for what it was, it wasn't bad. However, Vinny Jones should never have taken up acting.
Didn't it also have Sting in it?

I am not really into screwball comedies but cut my teeth on those movies growing up.
The newer comedic stuff is just lacking something |
I believe the word is "humor" |

I believe you left out a classic one, 1980's "Airplane!"
My parents showed me that one a few months ago and I was in stitches from the beginning when they are arguing about the loading zones

Yes, Sting was a character named JD...I've always thought Sting to be a self-absorbed prick but he did his job in the film so I hold nothing against him. As for Vinny Jones, you are correct, he's nothing special. But he does well in Guy Ritchie films, maybe he ought to stick to those. Haha, yes! Airplane was a childhood favorite of mine. "the white zone is for loading and unloading only..."

I also had an affinity to Hot Shots as well. I think it has something to do with Leslie Nielsen mainly, not Charlie Sheen.

Male announcer: The red zone has always been for loading. Female announcer: Don't you tell me which zone is for loading, and which zone is for unloading. Male announcer: Look Betty, don't start up with your white zone sh*t again. There's just no stopping in a white zone. Female announcer: Oh really, Vernon? Why pretend, we both know perfectly well what this is about. You want me to have an abortion. Male announcer: It's really the only sensible thing to do, if its done safely. Therapeutically there's no danger involved.

best thread evar.
Charlie Sheen for the win. Does anyone catch him in Two and a Half Men? That's a very clever show. Although I don't think he's ever been that good in a movie. What a shame.

The sequel, Hannibal, although certainly not overrated, was not too bad. I enjoyed the story very much, and Anthony Hopkins' performance was expectedly spectacular, the film seemed too modern and was lacking in the stark and suspenseful nature of Silence of the Lambs. It began well with Lector in Rome, I believe, but it got worse as it went on. The ending with the hogs is just stupid.

but I liked that European flair, and Gary Oldman was typically brilliant... loved the hogs! Oh yeah, and Ray Liotta's brain... cool, man

And to counter that brilliance, I also rented Underworld. Hey, I saw Underworld 2 in theaters, I just have to know how it began.

On behalf of everyone involved in the production and making of that film, I'd like to apologize throughly. may God have mercy on us all.

Good thing you brought that up. They've really managed to ruin most of the good old Marvel heroes in those silly new movies. The only one that's kind of okay is the first Spider-Man movie. | Except Batman Begins, and V for Vendetta, I agree. Those two movies are 3+ stars out of 4. V for Vendetta is a better movie than a graphic novel, IMO. |
How could I forget V for Vendetta? That's a great movie. like you said, it's not really a comic book, so I guess it doesn't count. I haven't seen Batman Begins, but I have heard it's good.
