At various times I wanted to be a professional orchestra/chamber ensemble percussionist (I'm classically trained) or a famous rock drummer, but not anymore-- I'm happy just making music for fun.

Not compositions exactly; my old improv trio has some stuff on Myspace at /acidophilusrex that we did using chance operations (dice mechanics) to determine the parameters of what we did (tempo, meter, key/mode, section length, etc.)

What instrument(s) do you play ?

Mostly percussion (drumset, vibes/marimba, hand drums, found objects, etc.), voice, and analog synths/live electronics (mostly for real-time manipulation of miked percussives, voice, zither, etc.).  I also play piano, organ, ukulele, guitar, bass, and zither with varying degrees of proficiency.

What instrument(s) do you wish you could play ?

Pipe organ.  I can play combo organ (1-2 manuals) ok, but I would love to be able to rip it up on 2-3 manuals plus three octaves of pedals!  I'm also trying to improve my riq (Arabic tambourine) playing, and my overtone singing is gradually getting better.

Do you play Prog or another type ?

  The trio I mentioned above (now defunct, alas) was a mix of improvised space rock, noise, stoner/doom metal, and ambient soundscapes.  Currently I play hand drums & uke in a duo performing kids' songs and Jewish ritual music (yeah it's a weird combo), and I'm trying to put together a "Dungeon Rock" group for jamming and formal compositions that combine early music, prog, and 70s metal with D&D-inspired lyrics.  We'll see what happens...

I've been playing drums for 6 years.

1.  Home recordist - do it just for the love of music these days, but I've played semi-pro at different points in my musical life.

I've been playing Drums for 30 years but I haven't really touched them for 5 years. I had to leave the last band I was in due to work comitments and never seemed to have got round to playing again. I still keep getting the urge to go back to it but I'd need a good musically interesting band to get me off my butt and into action again.

To answer your questions: I'm a pro musician (teach and perform) I have recordings online. I play kybds but wish I was better at guitar. I play a wide variety of music, but the music I have online now is acid jazz. You can check us out at myspacemusic.com/zazerac

I'm a not too bad for an average player kind of guitarist. Whenever people ask me what I can play, song-wise, I always paraphrase an old Johnny Cash quote - I know about a thousand songs, but I can only sing about 12. Unfortunately, no drummers close by, and none in sight. THIS is the best way to get people playing is to announce you have a drummer & a jam space. Still keep plugging away. There a bunch of friends who jam about an hour's drive away. But I kinda screwed myself with them. I started jamming with them when the drummer & bassist were just learning. So the other guitarist was happy to have someone who could actually play. The first few times I went, they spoiled me by letting me just rip, song after song after song, until the night's done. I let that go to my head, started having a few too many beers & when they started bucking down to learning actual songs, I couldn't contain my enthusiasm. They'd have to shush me up, make me turn my sound down & finally let me know through back channels that I was welcome, but to understand that they only had so much patience.
But I got a second chance now, with another group of friends. More loose, more fun with the boys type of thing. This time, I'm applying the lessons learnt. I'm 45 & would dearly love to be in a band.
