Most anything by Pink Floyd. Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, Dark Side Of The Moon, even some of their earlier, more psychadelic and less prog work.

Hmmm
Just to be different, I will pick a neo prog album not by Marillion,
IQ, Pendragon, or any other of the big however many there are of neo
prog
drum rolllllllll
MOONSHINE by Collage. The emotional intensity and musicality of
this album, especially everything from "Living in the Moonlight" to the
end of the CD, is wondrous.
Close second would be "Rings of Earthly Light" by Eris Pluvia.
Just as emotional but in a more understated way, but as effective and
perhaps a slightly more even album, in which every single track is
excellent.

OK I just reviewed ASIA MINOR "Between Flesh and Divine", and that's my
favourite, nuff said! OK one more thing...I can't find the
reviewless ratings but it has plenty of reviews and they are all at
least 4 stars.

i dont know, my favourite album is allways changing, one time was The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway other it was Close to The Edge, another time was Relayer and then In the court of the crimson king and then godbluff and then in a glass house and then amputechture and then larks tongues in aspic and then and then and then you get my drift? but in overall i think it must be The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, not only cause it was the first album i ever heard from rpog rock and that introduced me to this world, but cause i still think its the ultimate album made from the ultimate band.

Phew. .just ONE . .well it changes and im sure it will again many times but i cant see past 'Close To The Edge' by Yes. 3 perfectly balanced cuts with a perfect blend of edge and melody. An obvious choice maybe but still, great album.

Close to the edge...generic but if you asked for top 3 it would be very varied.

Hi everyone,
I personally don't think that any of the major major UK prog band (the ones I really know) - King Crimson, Genesis, Yes (perhaps with the exception of Gentle Giant - and I don't know ELP) - have made a COMPLETELY satisfying (great as some or lots of their albums were) album, but that's just my opinion,
My number one would probably be:
1) Museo Rosenbach's Zarathrusta (check spelling)
or close to it, Colosseum's' Valentyne Suite
or
Family's Music in a Doll's House or Anyway
or
Supertramp's Breakfast in America, Even in the Quietest Moments, Crisis What Crisis
or
Banco's First or Darwin
or
PFM's Storia di Minuto or Per in Amico
or
Mike Oldfield's Hergest Ridge or Ommadawn
These are all bona fide classics in my humble opinion. I have a few more I could add to the list but can't remember them offhand.
I would really like to swap recommendations with someone who agrees with me about the quality of all these albums! 
p.s. I think Osanna's first album and Mike Oldfield's Platinum are VASTLY underrated albums!!!
