I take both :)
Well, I guess that the minimoog is really hard to control, the Mellotron is more simple (apart from the tape thing of course).
Do you like the song from Porcupine Tree "Mellotron Scratch", a good hommage from Steven Wilson isn't it?

I don't know that PT song Mellotron Scratch (funny title ), I will check it out soon, I am a fan of the earlier work by PT, Coma Divine was the last PT album I bought.

"The scratching of a mellotron it always seemed to make her cry Well maybe she remembers us collecting space up in the sky"
From the lyrics, it's a song on Deadwing :) I don't really know what he means but it's a nice song :)

Semiramis' album is better in LP format. I listened to LP to the Red Moon... Then I bought the CD. Nevertheless I established that the cleanliness of the sound of the CD removes glamour and power to the songs!!!

That's a good news as seen as I can't find this album in CD!! And italian prog rock in general, quite hard to find even online...
Oh by the way, about mellotron, my favourite moments must be in Genesis, probably in Selling England by the Pound for sure.

Well the Anekdoten's one is a very good mellotron album, but not impressive, in my opinion.
I prefer Primitive by The Watch.

That's an almost perfect picture - all you need now is a Hammond C3 to one side:
& a Fender Rhodes electric piano to the other:
& you can keep all your fancy modern synths!

OK, !
Here's some Mellotron extravaganza, the Mark II on which the
wonderful eruptions on the first King Crimson album were played:
Tony Banks played his Watcher Of The Skies intro on it and Mike Pinder used it for Nights In White Satin (to be seen on the Isle Of Wight Festival 1970 DVD).

Do you know Bigelf? I don't know that much about it, just that they use a lot the Mellotron and that gives a great video clip with two Mellotrons :)

You're welcome :) I checked your review, I have to listen to it! :) Even more seen as I'm also a Black Sabbath fan :)
Another great use of the Mellotron is in Tangerine Dream even if it's used in a different way.

I love 74-77 Tangerine Dream, on the double live LP Encore (live usa 1977) the Mellotron is omnipresent
