You people with your complicated jazz chords!
Give me a good old fashioned F# minor triad any day!

Music school has been trying to drum these five and six note chords into me, but I try to resist, although I find the major 9/7 chord quite charming.

I think it's played with a capo on the second fret. Windowpane is a great song but it reminds me of Rush (they used the chord on The Fountain of Lamneth).

Ya they do use a Capo on that song, 2nd fret, but it's still the same basic idea.  The same chord structure is also used in the beginning of The Drapery Falls (just with C as the root), and I'm sure a bunch of other songs too.

Back on topic, I also enjoy any chord with the augmented 4th in it Evil%20Smile

...Ok maybe I don't, but it can be used well.  I like a lot of chords used by modern composers, although I don't normally understand what they are.  Odd chords sound good.
