Yak are an unsigned band, but do have a few CD's released privately in aid of Charity.
We class the music as 'instrumental progresive rock' & MP3's can be heard at http://www.myspace.com/yaktunes
Band members are Martin Morgan (43) Keys & composition, Robin Hodder (43) Guitar, John Wynn (43) Drums & our Bass player ...has just been sacked for repeatidly failing to turn up to rehearsals ! - Yes you guessed, the band formed at school some considerable time ago in Essex, UK.
The band is listed within these archives, but new material is currently streaming on the myspace account (3 out of the 4 listed there are new & will be on the next privately released CD)
Always keen for feedback, the band website is http://www.yaksongs.com
Regards,
Martin

Hi Martin,
Your songs are really amazing. I like Jadis of Charm and Entangled in Dreams a lot. I added you on myspace. If you can check it out my songs on myspace and my post here on PA. http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=38026. Cheers from Brazil. Eri www.myspace.com/zfrogs |

Thanks for taking a listen Eri - appreciate your comments very much.
Glad you picked out Jadis of Charn & Entangled in Dreams as they are both new works and both use my current favourite Mellotron samples (strings, hammond & choir). The verions at the myspace account http://www.myspace.com/yaktunes are my solo version of the pieces, however we are working on these two tracks to record a "band version" which I hope to have available soon.
Thanks again for taking an interest - I have downloaded your stuff & am giving it a listen
Cheers
Martin

Yes , I must say I have enjoyed your songs a lot. Especially where guitar enters on Jadis.. , then it gets a little - very little boring ( the guitar solo ).
Another part I enjoed is the the begining of The Gates. But the piano tune could not do it for me. Sorry :( Atay |

Well, at long last I have recorded a studio quality Yak track with 'real players' rather than just my keyboard intrepretations ! There is a new version of 'Jadis of Charn' streaming at the Yak myspace page with Drummer Dave Speight & his long standing bassist Gary Bennet. Dave Speight plays in Peter Bank's band 'Harmony in Diversity' (Peter was the original guitarist in Yes) as well as in the Prog Band 'Yesterdays' from Hungary.
I am clearly delighted to be playing with such accomplished players & the next Yak album will be out hopefully in Q1 next year with this 3 piece format
All the best !
Martin
