Topic: Giulio Capiozzo Appreciation Thread Posted: May 19 2007 at 15:08 |
Most of us know Area because of their incredible leader, Demetrio Stratos. But do you remember the outstanding drumming of Giulio Capiozzo? I mean, do you believe what you are hearing? The man is the most overlooked drummer in jazz/prog history. I had to make a thread about this amazing drummer. What do you think?

"Il Buon Giulio"! A very talented man, not only as a drummer, but as a human being, representing the core and soul of the band.

Add me to his fan club. This is the first appreciation thread I felt I had to contibute to.
I mean, do you believe what you are hearing? Well said, Oracus. Its hard to believe.
Can't think of any music that gets me more extatic than the opening and end of Cometa Rossa and then you get equally insane Zyg (Crescita Zero) right after that! Caution Radiation Area is probably my favorite percussion progalbum. (I love the other Area albums he's on too, of course). I don't know anything about music theory or timesignatures, but this simply has to be world-class, top shelf drumming!?

Over land and under ashes
In the sunlight, see - it flashes
Find a fly and eat his eye
But don't believe in me
Don't believe in me
Don't believe in me
