I'm listening to the album a bit later, so I was curious about the reviews.

It says in the album information that Jenkins isn't on the album and another review says it was recorded live in Paris in 1972.

It's not the rating I'm concerned about, but it's the fact that the rating is based on untruths.  If he knew Elton Dean was on it, he may still rate it badly, but he may just have a problem with Jenkins' input on later albums.

I will give the album a listen later.  I don't believe it to be in mono, either (it was released on Cuneiform for starters).

However I (and probably Bob) still think how to deal with reviews done before 2005. Unless they are totally abusive (and in this case they must be deleted), they shall receive a kind of 'historical' treatment or something like that. Just thinking... Embarrassed

I see this album getting the praise everywhere, and I decided some time ago to give it a good chance. The first that strikes me is that terrible vocal work from James LaBrie. I cant belive that DT havent sacked him from the band from the get go.

When I listen to DT I dont get the feeling im listening to people that love music, I feel im listening to people that love to show off their skills. Im sorry, but there just aint no soul in this crap. If feels like they first write the solos of every member, and then write the melody that gets to the solo.

Boring. Dont buy this album. Its just bad and corny

Where's the MUSICAL part of this review? Just senseless bashing (hey, even people that dislike DT won't say they play hair-metal).... And he says he feels DT don't love music... Well, maybe he feels that way, but there are better ways to say it. there are ways to give 1-star reviews with some respect for bands and people that like them.

I agree completely, I don;t care for the band and with my huge respect for Hugues, that review is rubbish and a direct violation of the fourth rule:

4 - Write in an intelligent and considerate manner. Rude or insulting language (including blatant vulgarity) will not be tolerated! Show respect for other reviewers, readers, the artists, and the CD and song titles. Do not belittle reviews posted by others, their opinions are as welcome and valid as yours. It is generally best to avoid commenting on other reviews altogether.

The following are examples of phrases which should NOT appear in reviews: "Reviewer Joe Smith is stupid for saying that...", "Anyone who doesn't like this album is an idiot", "The band which made this album is rubbish", etc.,

If it was written by anyone else it would have beeen deleted right awayErmm

Jeff Beck, Terry Bozzio and Tony Hymas in one album? Oh, immediately bought it. Without not even to monitor if I had money!!! I admit this is a very modern album. But I love Jeff Beck, I wanted to have an album of Terry Bozzio very excellent drummer and the presence of Tony Hymas was an additional value to the purchase. In this album the Prog is present in "Where Were You" and in "Two Rivers" two atmospherics ballad and extremely emotional songs. Jeff Beck plays the guitar without pressions and without to want to be too explosive (unfortunately hung us Tony Hymas) while it is not understood how much is capable the best Terry Bozzio (because the drums partiture are simple and little techniques). "Guitar Shop" a simple album seems But, instead, it asks for a lot of listening. In fact "Guitar Shop" is a Fusion, Heavy Rock, Symphonic Prog, Ambient and Moderate Prog Metal Without to belong one of the cited genre. If you think that "Guitar Shop" it is only an album recorded from three friends it have made center but, at least in this case, it have blundered because the music it is itself honest but the three musicians do not want that you are thought this. And there they succeed well.

Another good album by Jeff Beck. Modern and Rock. But good.

This has nothing to do with Hugues the person.I rarely report reviews and I didn't report it because he slammed a prog metal album.I was just shocked at the wording he used,you could almost feel the venom emanating from them.It also didn't say much about the music on the album,but just seemed like a rant against Bach.I did consider the last paragraph pretty darn offensive though.

Problem is that Seb Bach shows no respect for anyone, least of all the music fan. And that concept's subject IS abject crap!!!!
 
Other than the name calling, I think this is among the best One Star Review in the business.
 
As for the old ones, I am still looking for the b@stard that usurped my IPPigClown
