This is just to announce some recent changes in the signature service, and some new features which I'll implement this weekend:
Recent changes:
- More fonts have been added ... I'll add even more this weekend, together with a more comfortable font chooser which will contain a preview.
- The left and right columns of the box contents are now rendered in a slightly different foreground color than the main text (middle column). You can't currently configure this color, it is calculated based on the main box foreground color (slightly darker).
- In the playlist mode you can now configure the signature to not show ratings. I would be happy if all of you guys who are using the playlist mode would also rate the albums, but I know that some of you don't want the ratings to be included with the signature.
- Some fonts are not properly aligned vertically, which means that some fonts have unnecessary top/bottom padding. You can now enter a value (pixels) which will move the text up/down in the signature boxes, so you can get it to be aligned properly.
Planned changes:
- The playlist mode will be expanded - you'll get sub modes to choose similar to the last.fm modes, but more flexible since I'm not bound to an external data provider.
The following modes will be available ... I only listed the individual modes, of course you'll be able to combine them as well.
- Recent Albums
- Last Week's Albums (last 7 days)
- Last Month's Albums (last 30 days)
- Overall Albums
- Recent Artists
- Last Week's Artists (last 7 days)
- Last Month's Artists (last 30 days)
- Overall Artists
- The playlist editor will be expanded:
- You'll be able to also enter a date, so you can add albums you listened to several days before (limited to 3 days backwards).
- I'll add a small rating/tagging editor, so you can rate and tag albums quickly before adding them to the playlist without having to switch to the big rating editor.
- Whenever you add an album to the playlist your "Familiarity" setting in the review will automatically advance ... when you first add an album it will be set to "First Listen" (unless you specify a different starting value) and will then move to "A few listens" for 1-4 listens, "Many listens" with 5 listens and "Very familiar" with 10+ listens. But of course you'll still be able to edit the familiarity manually.
