Hey, I guess this is a fine place to (hesitate) (from the song, Between Sun And Moon, By Rush) introduce myself, so hello.  My 2 favorite bands at the moment are Rush & Camel, but I don't know that many bands.  I need someone to tell me bands simaller to Rush and/or Camel.

This is really a great site by the way.

I love Rush and Camel!

Don't know if I could help you though, I have varied tastes. Maybe some Caravan for you? In The Land of Grey and Pink would be a good choice, I think.

You should also try some King Crimson.  Like In The Court Of The Crimson King or Red.

I would also recommend Van Der Graaf Generator maybe Pawn Hearts or H to He Who Am The Only One would be some good albums to start off with.

Also Foxtrot is a good album. Its done by Genesis. And Fragile by Yes is also worth getting.

Welcome to the site!
I second the recommendation of King Crimson, Red seems up your alley.
My favorite art rock groups are Gentle Giant and Radiohead, so they might be interesting, especially Gentle Giant which seems closer to your tastes.
Maybe Kansas will work?
Either way, enjoy the site! Hug

If you want some foreign bands I would recommend PFM (Premiata Forneria Marconi). Its italian and the album Per Un Amico is a good one.

You could always try Caravan, and Kevin Ayers' solo albums.

Felt is another good one to try. Also Odin.

I've already have all the Rush albums (except for Feedback) but I'm working on getting all of the camel albums.  I've got Camel's Debut, Mirage, Snow Goose, Moonmadness and Rajaz so far.

You'll be overwelmed by the body of work here.
The essentials are Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, Pink Floyd
Jethro Tull's thich as a brick is a masterpiece,
there is some fantastic stuff that is not on the top 100 some of it is superior to what is on the top 100, but Family, Magma, and Univers Zero are all top notrch prog during their peaks.

Hi,

Camel really are great, and I never understood why they were/are so under-appreciated. Caravan's "For Girls Who Grow Plump..." may be of interest, plus Happy the Man, as mentioned above.

I found a band that I'm interested in (and no one here suggested it Wink)....Glass Hammer.  Not like Rush, not like Camel, but I am VERY surprised that Glass Hammer did a cover song of Air Born by Camel...very solid band, and very progressive...esspacailly the bass. Smile
