I've heard the two released tracks as well.

To Fuzz:
What you must have realized by now (if you're observant PLUS a fan) is that all songs released extra early, such as with Lazarus and Shallow for Deadwing, are not equal or even adequate samples of what was/is to come.

I also like the small mixtures of the Sky Moves Sideways fused into Fear of a Blank Planet I've heard. Especially from the 06' live debut of all six tracks, which essentially were only prototypes. This re-enforces my first point, there's always more to hear!

Anyways.. I KNOW a cover like that will stick out under flourescent lighting, so I suppose as a fan I can only hope it's stuck in stores to stare at curious consumers such as myself. I can't believe Porcupine Tree isn't larger.

I'm hearing the title track right now and I like what I'm hearing. Now that PT is signed to RR, SW is making more daring and progressive music. This is more reminiscence of the old Tree stuff from the 90's. Can't wait till it's released.

I just heard Sleep Together. Great song Clap The synths had a Beatlesque feel to them.

I wasn't impressed either. But then again I also didn't like the "Deadwing" samples, but the damn thing just keeps growing on me...
Bigger on the inside.

Well I stumbled upon a live recording (poorly recorded) of PT in Philly in which they played the songs from the new CD. Steven Wilson thanks Oceansize for opening up for them in his initial dialogue. So, your statement has merit.

BTW...I may have to buy extra copies of the new PT for my friends. I think the music is great.

I downloaded it, and it was a live album. Is there a studio version as well?

There are some clips from each track from the album here:

30 seconds for each track...different to the "official" preview.

Thanks.

I disliked 'Deadwing' at first, though it has grown on me.

I wont't listen to any samples of the new album on my crappy pc speakers, I just want to hear the whole album on my stereo-set...at earsplittingly LOUD volume. So I patiently wait til april.Geek

Check out Porcupine Tree's MySpace page to hear a six minute preview of Fear of a Black Planet... sounds excellent, really heavy in some places, but still melodic. It will soon be here...

Fear of a BLANK Planet... sorry... my mistake... either way the clip sounds great. Being a Rush fan also, it will be interesting to hear what Alex Lifeson has to contribute to Anesthetize. Also excited about Fripp's guest spot.

Same here. I can't wait!

How much do you think it will cost here in the UK? I want to know so I can save the right amount of money so I am not disappointed by not having enough money to buy the album.
