FOABP sounds a lot like something off of Deadwing. Very similar to maybe Halo or Arriving... And Let's Sleep Together sounds like a mix of something off of IA and some of PT's earlier stuff. Very twisted and dark sounding with some cool strings at the end. I dunno, overall these two tracks were kind of disappointing, but not bad.

According to Steve, the new album does not have any text on it....so this must be a mock up by the vendor, Play.com or the record company.

That'd be pretty gutsy, perhaps even more so then not promoting your new cd or putting out singles.

He did the same thing with Deadwing and In Absentia, didn't he? I have no doubt it will be the same here.

Yeah without words on the cover it would look so cool. And people might take a look at it and buy it because of the cover. I would if I saw something like that.

Not really, he's just not actively encouraging it. PT are heading off into Prog Metal territory, although smarter than the average...

....that said, Bass Communion sounds like Progressive Electronic to me, although the whole thing is put together with sampled instruments as opposed to the use of analog synths and keys..

It'd be nicer if he sent us all free advanced copies for being such loyal fans

so is that it then? I would've expected it to be in like the bottom right or something. I like it, though.

Man, I cannot wait to hear Lifeson's solo on the longest song of the new disc. Boys, this disc is going to be a killer!

Hey everyone, this is my first post here and of course it had to be about PT.

The lyrics I've heard so far remind me a bit of Bret Easton Ellis' writing style and of course "I simply am not there" obviousy reminds me of my favorite book, American Psycho. Has anyone else who has seen the new stuff played live gotten that from it?

Can't wait for the album :-D

I've heard this too, but I'm going to try to listen to it as if I had never heard this info. Also, it's possible that it only seemed out of place because people aren't used to hearing someone other than SW solo on a PT album. I bet it's fine.
