Greetings Progonites, What is the lamest song by a prog band that you are ashamed to like. Mine is Burning Bridges by ELP. It just makes me warm in the heart and makes me want to hug terrorists with WMDs. Damn Terrorists. Anyhow, what is your favorite Chessy Prog song,

I just listened to Wind and Wuthering for the first time tonight, and I really enjoyed Your Own Special Way, despite the poppy cheesiness of it. Other than that I can't think of any off the top of my head... unlesss Rush's late 80s stuff would be considered cheesy.

Time Table - Genesis

Why, why can we never be sure till we die

Or have killed for an answer,

Why, why do we suffer each race to believe

That no race has been grander

It seems because through time and space

Though names may change each face retains the mask it wore.

In order to keep up with my Tuller image, I'll say the Overseer Overture. It's just so synthy and over the top.

Transatlantic are pretty damn cheesy, but I can't help but love them for it.

"Innocence and undying love will reign" is one of the cheesiest lyrics ever, but it's so powerful in the context of the song.

Lines in the Sand by Dream Theater. One of the relatively few songs by them I really like, because it isn't that cheesy. But as it is Dream Theater, it can never become completely un-cheesy, so it qualifies.

Yes!!!

So let it be the title track:

'Whoso pulleth out this sword from this stone and anvil shall be the true-born king of all Britain'

[Drum roll, on the timpani! Then main theme, played by the orchestra! Then riffy bit, with main theme elaborated on Rick's favourite Moog!]

...Riveting stuff
