Hey, I'm new here and expecting to hopefully find some interesting conversations going on, it's hard to find intelligent musical discussions on the web. Some of my favorite prog-related artists:

Frank Zappa
Henry Cow
Soft Machine
King Crimson
Thinking Plague
Birdsongs of the Mesozoic
Yes
Doctor Nerve

and of course tons of krautrock bands, including Can, Faust, Neu!, Amon Duul II, etc...

Looking forward to expanding my knowledge base.

Regarding King Crimson, I have Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Red, 21st Century Guide to King Crimson Box Set which covers most of their first couple albums and includes a lot of live stuff as well, Happy With What You Have to Be Happy With (EP), The Power to Believe, and Three of a Perfect Pair. I'm not too big a fan of anything they've done since the 70's or so, but oh well.
