I wished to be the first to vote for The Lamia, but In the Cage, The Carpet Crawlers, and Hairless Heart are fantastic too.

The Lamia is certainly one of my favourite Genesis tunes.

I think 'The Lamia' just about pips all comers, even if it's a terrific album all around. I think it's a sleeper as lots of people hate it when they first hear it (especially the second half), myself included. But now I love it, especially the second half.

    How true.

The Lamia is not only my favorite from the album, and from genesis, but probably my favorite ever, that is, the version from the box set. Not to mention hackett's solo from the live version inspired me to pick up guitar instead of bass as my thrid instrument

It may be a predictable choice, but you really can't go wrong with the title track. Thumbs Up

Very unfair question! Cry

1) Genesis are my favourite band, full stop!
2) The Lamb is my favourite album, ever!

So, how do I choose my favourite track from an album littered with favourite tracks?

Well, my two least faves, (comparatively, of course) are 'The Chamber Of Thirty Two Doors', and 'Back In NYC', though I still enjoy both songs.

However, I do have a fave, (just) and that fave is:

FLY ON A WINDSHIELD.Star

A wonderful, otherworldly introduction, followed by superb lyricism. Hackett, Banks and Collins seldom sounded better together. ClapClapClap

A bit of a patchy album in terms of quality but IN THE CAGE is one of my favourite all time songs.

They are all excellent songs and I just couldn't choose between all the greats on the first LP... Or all the greats on the second LP! I ended up voting for a song that I felt sorry for, having no votes. It's also a song that I really enjoy singing along to and is extremely underrated, "The Grand Parade Of Lifeless Packaging!"

Back In New York CityThumbs Up

Sides 1 & 2 are the perfect prog album whilst sides 3 & 4 leave a lot to be desired with too much filler IMO,
