Ah... I am trying to change my e-mail address to the new one used... and I'd like my reviews changed properly first to the new email address so that when I actually change it on my account, all my reviews show up. I've already pm-ed Easy Livin about how to go about doing this, and, in the meantime, have been submitting reviews under the new email address to facilitate said change.
Thanks for your concern, but there was no mistake. That said, don't worry about changing them (there are three - Carave If I Could and Wobbler Hinterland as well) back, unless there is a way to change them all to the new email address at once. If that is the case (you CAN change them all at once) please PM me. Many thanks and regards IPOF |

I guess psycho has not revealed himself as there are no longer 1-star reviews of his. But IMO any reviews have to be deleted by now. Unless he is ready to defend his view. Now, why 1-star reviews are worse than 5-star. There's a subject of abuse of PA, isn't it?

rare occasion #2
but i think it's too late already, only his positive reviews can still be found, are those the ones pending for deletion? Edited by andu - December 22 2006 at 11:25 |

i agree with both, I think pshycospaces represents one thing that I always thought about the site - there are too many 5 star votes, 5 stars should only be given to albuns that have a good dose of originality. I don't question many albuns 5 stars, but there are some that are obviously flaws! And in some of his reviews he pointed those albuns too over-rated, in a comic way lol
I deffinitely agree with his words in most of his reviews.

The problem with Psychospaces is not just his erratic reviewing style, it is the fact that he has not provided a valid e-mail address. We would be happy to discuss his reviews with him if we were able to.
It is a prerequisite of posting a review that you provide a valid e-mail address. On that basis, I think we have been more than fair with him by allowing any of his reviews to remain.

Just adding that only some of his more controversial reviews were deleted from the database not him - he got the message and he may come here and register.
One question: would you like to be bashed by someone hidden in anonimity? I wouldn't!

Who was he bashing? Sorry I'm just confused now. Ao are you saying that if he registered, hie reviews would be fine? In that case you must delete all his reviews forthwith! Edited by Snow Dog - December 22 2006 at 12:44 |

Yes, SD, there's a pile of 1-star reviews (some even borderlining bashing) done by registered reviewers who can be questioned any time we want. And also they can come here to show their "faces" and defend their points. We delete many "not fine" reviews done by registered reviewers and also we send them mails or PMs explaining the reasons, cause we know them, we have their adresses and so on. That's not the case here.
The mentioned "reviewer" bashed bands, albums and indirectly he bashed also fans and appreciators. As a bait, we deleted some of his reviews in the hope he could come here to defend his views. Let's wait a couple of days (maybe he's out for Christmas) and then IMO we should delete all of his reviews - anyway, a decision to be agreed by the Reviews Moderation. The funny thing with that review is that it was maybe written in English and translated to Spanish using an (innefective as usual) online translator.

... but we do listen to the feedback we get. In this case, I do think giving a false e-mail address is disrespectful to the site. The issue will be addressed soon, as it will be mandatory to use a forum log in to post reviews. Yes, we could quite rightly have deleted all his reviews, but we did not, preferring to be as accommodating as we feel is tenable.

In fact, is a plagiarism of the other review from that album, only that it went through an online translator!! So now we have a new form of plagarism??

Maybe he wrote his e-mail wrong when submitting the review. I have misspelled my e-,ail on quite a number of occasions. |

But at the moment it is ok ro make reviews, while having nothing to do with this site. So at this moment he has done nothing wrong and yet his reviews were deleted. And as for the false e-mail address, maybe he doesn't like to give his real one out williy nilly. |

WEll you have to give one for the forum at least. "When you join the forum, you will be asked to give a valid e-mail address as part of your registration". |

But by submitting a review you are having something to do with the site. If, as part of the process, we ask the reviewer to provide their e-mail address, it is reasonable to expect them to do so or to decline to participate in the site.
As for doing nothing wrong, every review he submits is either 1 star or 5 stars. Often, the text does not support this, as he will highlight weaknesses in the 5 star albums, and strengths in the one star.
A disproporationate number of his reviews are one star. I'm not saying this is a breach of the rules, but it is not constructive, and we would wish to encourage him to be generallly more postitive. We would be remiss in our duties if we did not ask him to give more consideration to his ratings, and to use the full range available..... To point him in the right direction. Unfortunately, we have no way of asking him!
