But chronologically in the films, he has them early... and then no jets for New Hope. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

...and is the red R2 that was blasted from Amidala's ship over Naboo the same one almost bought by Uncle Owen on Tatooine? Unlikely, I know, but possible??

That's what I mean! They had to go ahead and ruin the continuity of the series by introducing something that didn't exist in later films. ![]() |

I'm pretty much a Star Wars fan, the original mainly. I found one and two to be kinda crappy, and three was an major improvement but still not up to par with the classics.

Hahah same thing with me. Ever since I’ve discovered the Dune series there has been no time for Star Wars novels. Right now I’m looking for some stuff by Arthur. C Clarke. |

If you're looking for good sci-fi, I recommend ''The Gap" series of five books by Stephen Donaldson (author of the Thomas Covenant books). Very, very good stuff indeed. |

Is Luke evil? Seriously, there are several indications; he starts as an idealistic innocent and ends up a rather violent avenger, going against almost everything Ben taught him. Plus, his attire goes from white to grey to black!

I think he is everything his father was,and not just the good attributes either. He is also headstrong, impatient and quick to anger.I always wondered how he avoided turning to the dark side. In the comics Luke actually did turn to the dark side and came back. |

Yes, and in fact he's well on his way there until he's almost killed and saved by the most famous villan in the galaxy, his dad. That might make a good part 7,8 & 9. Luke, while in charge of building a new republic, revisits his father's fascist agenda. |

Thanks UtUmNo1, though it's unclear as to whether this info is proper (SW canon)...but it's an interesting site. |

Yeah, I can't be sure either but I did visit it quite often prior to EP III coming out and it was always on the money.
Any examples of why they hate the site? I've always found it hard to believe that Lucas answers questions there but although I try to find fault it keeps turning up legitimate... Edited by UtUmNo1 - November 09 2006 at 09:23 |

I have a friend who feels SW ('New Hope' in particular as he was about 10 yrs. when it came out) provided a moral blueprint for him and others of his generation, and is quite sure it helped him form his own sense of ethics and values. Is this stupid, silly or unfounded? Can you take such important meaning and principle from a movie with spaceships and puppets? I'd like to hear from *anyone* who was under 16 or so when they experienced Episodes 4,5 or 6 about whether this was true for them as well.

Often it is simple chance an actor will get cast in what turns out to be an important role. How do you think the SW films would have been different with/without certain actors?...Nick Nolte was up for the part of Han Solo, God help us.
