Prog is 70s though in my view. But some bands did continue on the legacy though.

I guess the polls don't work, in the sense that I can vote for ANY poll as many times as I want.
I voted for Marillion, but it could have been Porcupine Tree too.
My favorite neo-prog band is Pendragon, though. I love The Jewel, Kowtow, The Window Of Life and The Masquerade Overture.

Though DT is definitely not the best, it should be at least on the list!
My vote for TFK!

There are just far too few options.
Not worth voting.
But my favourites are The Mars Volta, Ozric Tentacles, Fantômas, Opeth, Ars Nova etc. etc.

camel was formed in 1971, so that leaves them out of this poll.
but i like your suggestion!
among the alternatives, i'd say Porcupine Tree.

I would say NIN or Depeche Mode are more progressive rock around 1990 than any of the clone bands like Dream Theater or Porcupine Tree or Anglagard. Unless the word progressive rock died at the end of the 70's and can only be reminised by copy wannabee bands!

I say Spock's Beard.
But unfortunately, they are not on the poll. So I say Marillion.

This was hard. I'm disappointed that Spock's Beard is not on here.
Anyway, I voted for Marillion.

The story goes as follows....
Before Marillion signed to EMI they were called Silmarillion and as such entered a Battle of the Bands contest, which took place at the Mad Hatters Club in Luton, UK. (Marillion came from nearby Aylesbury except for Fish who didn't). My brother was in a "punk-pop" band called Looks Deceive and like Marillion got into the finals. Anyway, my brother takes great pleasure in telling people how his band won the contest and beat Silmarillion. What he doesn't tell people was that hot favourites to win Silmarillion didn't show up for the final as they were in London doing their EMI showcase gig (I believe) and the rest, as they say, is Fishtory.
