That is too funny. Love the acoustic folk version of the Imperial March! Hey- someone should do a prog rock Star Wars album.

Prog is the only style of music that could ever emphasize the awesomeness and intricaces of the Star Wars universe.

Except maybe Weird Al, I used to have the whole of his episode one song memorized.
Bassists are deadly

No doubt-- seriously, it would be great, and could be a heavier rockish version or something symphonic; Eccentric Orbit would do a great job, or David Bagsby, maybe Emerson...

Heated little debate going on in the 'Oh boy Life and Death' thread...I can see it being locked, and rightly so. Luckily, Star Wars fans have a fictional and fun religion called the Force, practiced by good and bad alike. Care to remark on the spiritual side of SW in contrast with other real world faiths?

Well in England, many people actually filled in their Census returns with the religion of Jedi!  I believe there was at least 20 or so.  It was all started by a guy who from where I live who's changed his name to Luke Skywalker.  He owns a shop with the same name also.

Jody, I do believe R.A. Salvatore wrote a Star Wars book, is it any good?

Also, Wedge and Biggs are also frequent characters in Final Fantasy games.

Some good sparring with Community, GeckO. You kept your composure-- must be all that thread-sparring experience.

That's great about Jediism spreading in the U.K. Heck, half the actors in the films are British.

Hahaha, well I always keep my cool.  I don't mean to offend anyone, so if I did, I apologise.

But this isn't the place for it, so pfft...

I'm not really a Star Wars person though, so forgive me for intruding.  I'm more of a Forgotten Realms AD&D person.

That's fine-- *any* fantasy is one of the great parts of being human

Indeed.

I do wish there were more Planescape related fiction around though, as that is the best fan-fi world I've ever come across, yet it's never caught on as much as Forgotten Realms has.

It's a shame.

One of my favourite ever fan-fi novels is set in the Planescape world and it never got published and is free to read online.

As the author tasked with writing the first book of the New Jedi Order series, Salvatore was ordered by Lucasfilm to kill off Chewbacca, one of the most popular characters in the franchise. Many fans thought that Salvatore himself had made this decision, and he received death threats as a result.

Shocked

I was playing AD&D in the early 80s, and Aduine Grimore, Chitin, Rune Quest, Gamma World, Ogre, Top Secret, and those great 'Strategy & Tactics' magazines...wish I still had those.

Well that's ridiculous and obsessive

Indeed.  I don't understand people who take fanboy/girl-ism that far.

Well, I have three sets of books in the Dark Elf series (Drizzt Do'Urden) by R.A. Salvatore to read.  He's since written some further books, so when I've finally read these ones, I'll will purchase the next ones.

He wrote the Attack of the Clones novel and the New Jedi Order series called Vector Prime.

In fact the scene was filmed, I've seen it on one of the DVD special features; it must've appeared very breifly during the premier in New York and then cut-- or maybe my friend's memory is incorrect.

One of my subordinates at work lists his religion as Jedi Knight.

On one particular occasion when I hailed him and some other lads over the loud speaker system I said,

"The following people please report to the boss' office; Richard, Glen and Browny: Jedi Knight and friend of Captain Solo"

I thought it was hilarious.....

He'd probably release them in fullscreen and with the film playing upside down if he thought people would buy it.
