The whole story is about what happened to Boba while in the Sarlacc and how he was able to eventually escape.It is extremely interesting,he did not escape unscathed.He was very badly burned and horribly disfigured and even after he escaped from the Sarlacc he was dying.

The first book in the Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy(The Mandalorian Armor),tells about how Dengar(another bounty hunter)found Boba dying on the sands of Tattooine and nursed him back to health and saved his life.

I understand why you dislike the changes, but watch the original Death Star scene and then the new one, and then watch the old Hoth scene and then the new one.  Those two scenes are absolutely amazing in the new version, while they look a little cheesy in the original one.  So I guess now that I think of it, it probably would have been better if George Lucas had just touched up the special effects (like a CD remaster) and not changed anything about the movie itself.  (Well at least nothing significant.  I don't mind seeing more of the scenery of the cloud city for a longer time in the new version.)

Who's Biggs?  I'm a little down on my Star Wars I guess. 
 
Edit:  Wait, I just remembered, he's the guy the fought the Death Star with Luke, right.  I remember them talking like they new each other.  He survived the Death Star, didn't he?  I think he's the one who's X-wing (or was he flying a Y-wing) got damaged and had to retreat.

The character you speak of is Wedge Antilles. Biggs Darklighter is the guy with the checkered helmet design and Vader kills him during Luke's attack run.

I always wished Biggs had survived-- didn't seem quite right to sacrifice such a brave young Rebel.

The person I know who saw the first run swears he remebers the Luke/Biggs scene from an early NYC screening and I *know* it existed cause I've seen the footage- Luke is wearing his sun hat. Progtologist where are you...do you recall this short-lived scene? It was a looooong time ago in a galaxy far away...
