That's very Zen of you James.

Thanks guys.  Well I've never read anything about Zen (although I did once start to read Robert M. Pirsig's "The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance", but didn't get too far).

I do believe I make sense though.

I've suffered from depression myself and have gotten through it... without drugs too.  I just thought one day "why am I worrying about such trivial things, when others are having much bigger problems in their life?" and I snapped out of it.

I'm not happy with with my life, not at all, but I don't dwell on it too much.  I have the occasional bad day, but I can soon filter it all out and be positive again.  I still lack motivation to do things though, which is a still a big problem.

Can't see the logic in that.  If that were so, more women would have been created with the ability to have an orgasm thru intercourse.  Last numbers I read said only about 25% can. [IMG]height=17 alt=Tongue src="http://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif" width=17 align=absMiddle>

Probably one of the reasons we hear so many complaints about girls faking it.......[IMG]height=17 alt=LOL src="http://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif" width=17 align=absMiddle>

Yes, I've often wondered why nature arranged things like that. I think it's supposed to be a test for men. It encouarges thorough foreplay and attention to the womens needs. This makes their bond stronger and creates a closer knit family unit in which to raise young....

Happiness is the feeling you get when things are going better than usual.

If we didn't have an inbuilt need to be happy, we'd probably still be living in caves or maybe we wouldn't even have got that far.

the point of life is to listen/play music. to me, people who dont listen to music are either up-tight, boring, snobby, or unenlightened people.

Should have known it was you as soon as the "Smutty Sex Talk" alarm went off in the Moderator's Control Room...

...some things never change do they Linda?

Evidently they do...  someone gave you a title!! Confused

And I believe the smutty sex talk was started long before by Blacksword regarding "shagging".  However, if you think that stating a statistic about women's anatomy is smutty, then let the smut begin.... oh yea!

Sexual statistics: from the Journal for Sex Research

Average Time to Orgasm (female)
For those females in Kinsey's studies that could achieve orgasm through intercourse, averaged a little less than 4 minutes to reach orgasm during masturbation, though for intercourse it took anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes.

Average Time to Orgasm (male)
Kinsey found that 75% of all males reach orgasm within 2 minutes of penetration, and felt that it was normal, though he does note that it "may be most unsatisfactory to a wife who is inhibited or natively low in response."

Way to state the obvious, doc.

Still, your photograph (if that is a picture of you, off course) shows a smile. Don't overlook your own feelings. True, people die in cruel ways, like hunger or blasted out because of differences between credos, that sort of horrible things, and it's certainly a bless not to be involved in such tragedies, but we all suffer in our own different ways and measures. Regarding motivation, know this: you won't find an answer to that, unless you search for it (I'm going to get the Nobel and the Oscar for that one). And may I add, motivation is a self inflicted behaviour. Most people act for pleasure; plain pleasure. I have a friend who finds happiness in Actionscript, PHP, ASP, JASP and every web based programming language. His motivation is to beat those languages, master them, and feel like a "man" because of it. Try not to follow him, but explore yourself, your interests, set a goal, one suitable for you (I haven't looked into those velvet rooms enough to be able to tell something more specific about you), also, search for something that allows you not to be you as you know yourself (I think I want my Nobel right now). A change in the conditions helps to discover things deeply hidden on us. Good luck and cheer up, and take care of that depression, it is wise to keep an eye on those, better check with the doc once in a while, if only for the ride and the conversation. My beloved Mercedes knows very much about this, so do I.

That's exactly how I try to be Cuncuna.  I'm not depressed anymore either, so that's not really an issue.

I wholeheartedly agree with you and I do try to be myself and follow my own ideas, I've always been like that.

Oh and yes, I do always smile, I'm never sad, because I always find something to smile about, even in tough times, that's the way I am.

I think you deserve that Nobel Peace Price!
