With all of our soccer threads in this forum, I thought it would be a good idea to make about my favorite sport, hockey.

It's NHL opening night, so I felt today would be a good day to open this thread.

So, let's talk hockey!

My favorite team is the Canucks, and I'm an angry Blackhawks fan.  I live in Denver now where no one likes either team.  I do however have NHL Center Ice from Directv to watch the teams I like.

I used to be a huge NHL fan when I was 10 or so, I still have a massive collection of ice hockey cards somewhere!

NHL doesn't interest me much anymore, but I still try to watch the Olympics and the World Championships whenever they're on. I'm still pissed that we lost the final against Sweden in the Olympics! Angry

My favorite NHL team is possibly Colorado Avalanche. Don't know why though.

I am a rabid Penguis fan and yearn for them to return to their former greatness, but that might take awhile. The Pens are also BADLY in need of a good goaltender.

Wait till Sydney Crosby really develops as a player,he is the next Mario Lemieux.

I was born and raised in Detroit, so the Red Wings are my #1.Thumbs Up

I moved to California in 1984 and live two hours from San Jose, so the Sharks are my #2 team. Ying Yang

Both should have good years, but I think the Sharks may take it all. Wink

I Think the Penn's will have a good team this year, espeacialy w/ the amazing rookie, Malkin who was second pick in the draft last year (He dindn't want to play pro just yet last year), and of course Crosby.

I'll be rooting for 'em too, except when it will hurt the Devils of course.

I couldn't care less which group of millionaires (who aren't even from the cities they represent) can put the rubber disk in the net more often.

I'm watching the Ottawa VS Toronto Game at the moment. 3 period. 3-1 Ottawa.

I'm a Bruins fanClap but cheer for the Sens since I live in the region and watch most of their games.

I'm all for hockey being played 12 months of the year!LOL

Maybe because they are the descendent team from the Quebec Nordiques who were the first team to open the market to Czechs with the Statsny brothers.

I still root mainly for the Montreal Canadians even when I lived in Toronto. I hated the Leafs when they were under old bugger owner Harold Ballard, he was their main problem.

But in general I root for all the Canadian teams. (although there are less of them after the Winnipeg Jets and the Nordiques moved to US cities)

Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs
Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks.

I did not know this guy was still playing. He was a Gretzky teammate with the Oilers , if I remember well. He must be close to 40, then!!

Jaromir Jagr never played with the Oilers.  He's played with the Penguins, the Washington Capitals, and now the NY Rangers.

He did indeed, and helped the Pens win back to back Stanley Cups.

Used to play EA NHL Hockey a lot on the Mega drive and Playstation.

For some reason I always played as Chicago and Jeremy Roenick was my top scoring player..

Great game, two player or against the "computer".
