I just was curious if anybody here has their own band (or is in a band)...personally, I'm "trying" to start up a band that'll probably be called "Rainbow Moon"...

It's got to be slow
Taking love the only way
It's got to just flow
Making love and taking time to let it grow

I have a fully-armoured prog-band called Harlequin. I do the vocals and lead guitar. We have alot of prog (and non-prog) influences: Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Jeff Buckley, Yes etc. We fuse alot of different genres but we're trying not to overdo it. That's basically all I can say at this point. It's still a pretty new band.

cool...I used to have a sort of a prog band...girl singer and everything...(sounded like Renaissance)...though we had a really big "falling out" and I had to take over lead vocals...it's not so much prog anymore as more like the band Rainbow...

I used to be the vocalist in a band in Australia called Stone of Lung (soon changed names to Circle the Sun). Then the drummer left and I quit.

LOL

Btw, the three guitarist in our band were all brothers, German. The lead guitarist was in his teens and could play sick leads, he was obsessed with Led Zeppelin and was always improvising, much to the chagrin of his older brother who was rhythm guitarist.

Let's not let this nice thread end up in obscurity due to the recent Prog Olympics. I'm reviving it. Wink

I play guitars in a band called Oddyssey, prog metal type of thing, inspired by the likes of : Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Rush, The Tea Party, The Cranberries, Voivod, etc... Mrs. Melomaniac handles lead vocals.  You can visit our website at www.oddyssey-web.com and from there on you can listen to songs, or visit our myspace site, available as a link on the bottom of the left hand menu.

I also play bass in a french canadian band called 'Parabole'.  Inspired by Rush (we are a power trio) but more rock and more radio friendly.  You can visit our website at www.parabolerock.com

Enjoy and feel free to leave your comments !

Musically yours,

I play in a spacerock band called Scattered Planets, and also have a solo Viper project.  I have played with Nik Turner, Harvey Bainbridge, Thee Maximalists, Dream Machine, Tim Blake, Jean-Phillpe Rykiel.........

I also have collaborated with lots of people and still have more recording to--about to get the Viper out in a minute to work on tracks for Alisa from Space Mirrors right now!
