Is Pink Floyd... Boring?

Of course they are not boring, just a bit dull at times.

Honestly, I come on PA for a bit of intelectual stimulaltion, and you get a poll like this...d'oh.......no they're not boring but they can be a bit dour and depressing at times!!

As to your above comments, The Lamb, I'd like to point out that such negative topics really don't add much to the forum. You (and everybody else) have the right to dislike even the most popular bands, but you should expect people to react strongly to such questions, especially when they are not supported by an explanation as to the reason why. Personally, I dislike being called a 'fanboy' (in case, that would be a fangirl...), and think such polls are a very effective way to provoke a flame war, as it has already happened in the past.

They can be boring, but on the whole, they are well worth listening to.

BTW, if anyone here happens to think that PF (or any other music, for that matter) is boring just because 'it's not complex enough' - what are you doing on a prog site? Better listen to this guy:

... after Roger Waters' comments to Robbie Williams and Rap/Hip Hop music I have to say I'd prefer listening to "Sing when you're winning" to "Dark Side of the Moon" and, for example, OUTCAST to "Radio Kaos"... don't kill me I'm only a single man with a strange taste !

of course you can be virtuoso and have soul.. but you say that you prefer music you admire... its like poeple i know that are about my age... and say.. "oh look dream theater's guitarist in that dvd sounds like he is really god"

so what makes you feel the sensation of music.... admiring a musician, or feeling him?

cause i really think that what i saw in that dvd was kinda boring... but really cool for someone who wants to see a machine hand and admire it...
