Have you ever had a prog dream? I did last night, and it was quite strange.

I was buying some rare King Crimson CD that I'd never heard of, and while looking at the liner notes, I found myself at a KC concert. While the lineup was supposed to be Belew, Levin, Bruford, and Fripp, the drummer was some nobody guy who would always get too tired after playing a song and Fripp was no where to be seen (although in my dream I could feel his 'presence' scowling the whole time)!

And then they started playing all of this complicated music. After a while I realized they were playing Gentle Giant covers! Then the alarm went off.

I had one, but it wasn't too developped. Also, it was very obscured and abstract, almost without action. I put Lizard (an album) by KC, and prepared myself to listen to it for the first time (at all, it was a borrowed cassette; after that I bought a CD), but eventually felt asleep at some moment. The only thing I remember from the dream was the feeling that I was listening to music, which after the wake I might define only as "heavenly (or superhuman) music"... I suspect it was an impression from the track "Lizard", after Jon Anderson stops singing, just before the jazzy jam...

About 3 months ago I had a dream that I went to London to see Marillion. Pretty disappointed when I woke up.

I've met Cedric and Omar on multiple occaisons. LOL

*dream sequence*
After a TMV concert, which was amazing, we all walked out. It was the best night of my life. And were  driving and I have to stop at some walgreens rite aid or something and when I go in Cedric is working the counter for some extra change. I get what I need and say hi to him then leave.
*wake up*

My dream, from about 5 years or so ago:

I am in a house on the top floor, waiting for some unspecified person to pick me up and take me somewhere.  It's pouring rain outside as I stare from the window in as-yet-mysterious anticipation, knowing I am to be collected but with no idea by whom and for what purpose.

A current-model burgundy-colored car pulls up and I descend the stairs and get in the car, which has parked outside.  The driver is Robert Fripp.  He says that the gig is still on and that we have plenty of time, time enough to go to the cool independent bookstore he likes.  It dawns on me that I am his roadie/assistant/valet for the evening.

We drive to the bookstore and RF is immediately enthralled in the selection of Russian literature on hand.  I leave him in the Russian aisle and go downstairs to a basement room, where I am to change clothes for the big gig.  Somehow I get locked in the room and after a long time RF finds me and unlocks the door and we venture back out into the rain to go to the gig.

We drive to a big parking lot with a theater on one end and a row of streetlights on the end we are at.  Although the lot is basically empty, RF parks as far away from the theater as the lot will allow.  He opens the trunk and in the pouring rain hands me his guitar case and a small, practice-sized amplifier, and says, "Remember when I told you you couldn't even carry my guitar?  I lied!!!!" and cracks up laughing.

End of dream.

LOL Clap Priceless.

I too dreamt of a King Crimson concert once. It was a very dark room... I don't remember anything else... I also dreamt that I DT where playing on my school and  Portnoy took a break so I sat down on his drums and started to jam with everyone else in the band. Both where pretty cool since 1. I've always wanted to watch KC live and 2. because I don't know how to play drums and yet I jammed with DT.

There was a small prog related detail in some of my dream, where a band sitting in a cafe which I passed by was at the same time Wetton-era KING CRIMSON trio and MOTÖRHEAD. Maybe I labelled them in the same musical category in my dream? Smile

Around February of this year, I was anticipating seeing Dream Theater for a second time, so much that I had a dream of what the concert would be like.

The dream went like this. My brother and I arrived at the venue, and it was as I expected, a lower area that acted as a pit and an upper level for seating and what not. Well, I guess my brother and I got thee early as we were the only people there at the time, save for one guy. It was actually a character from Resident Evil 4, which essentially looks a bit like Baraka from Mortal Kombat II, and this character was standing right next to my brother and I and I felt uneasy right from the beginning. Anyway, in the dream, Tool was opening for Dream Theater so they began playing on this stage that kept moving to the left, and then back to the right. Anyway, as soon as Keenan got on stage the thing next to me jumped up on stage and started mauling him. I then wake up.

Another dream my brother was telling me about before we saw Rush.

Rush get up on stage and they started playing The Trees. Midsong, Geddy goes up to the microphone, yells, "f**k THIS!", throws down his bass and walks off stage.

LOL
