Nice stuff Yukorin,

Needless to say you have made me rather jealous. It seems you have a very nice vinyl collection, alongside you Kraut.

One thing I am certain about at the moment I'm really enjoying Abus Dangereux's album. A first it didn't really seem anything special, but over the last few weeks everytime I flick through my small Zeuhl collection this one keeps getting put on. I must urge people to have a listen to this album. Do you have any thought on this album Yuk?

Also I another issue, I think we are going to have to start trying to get some of these bands added. From the time spent in this thread it really has opened my eyes to how much wider the Zeuhl genre is compaired to my first thoughts.

Yukorin,

The cover art and inserts from that Hellebore LP are gorgeous. The front cover reminds me a little of Escher's work. With cover art like that I would hope the music itself is special.

Is there a Web site with (legal) MP3 samples where I can hear what this album sounds like?

PM me Herr Kinski

Sometimes vinyl can show her true worth. The Hellebore sleeve is not only beautifully realised but printed on the most gorgeous of material. Meanwhile the Musea cd reissue is yer bog-standard badly printed common or garden toilet paper affair.

Anybody familiar with London's 'Metabolist' ? Long overdue a reissue (I believe Alan and Steve Freeman at Ultima Thule http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/ultimathule/ are working on it). This 1980 classic should appeal to those with a love of Zeuhl and This Heat and early Cabaret Voltaire. Incredible LP ! Zeuhl masterpiece !

The two Vortex releases.

My vinyl copies are showin' signs of age so I wanna buy the recently issued double cd. Can't remember which label reissued her. BV, can you help ? Incidentally the one on the left ('Vortex' 1975) is the rarest record I own. Pity it's in such a bad state.

Magma

I wanted to show this early Magma 7" because of the beautiful sleeve. Also, the flip-side 'Klaus Kombalad' is absolutely astonishingly beautiful (available on their 'Simples' cd. But be warned that the 5 tracks on that cd are taken from vinyl copies)

Magma book

Written by Magma fanatic, UK Channel 4 'Eurotrash' presenter, and general man-about-town Antoine de Caunes I wish I could say this is a lively read and a page-turner extraordinaire but my French is limited to
'Veux-tu coucher avec moi'

(pack of fags added for scale)

I was thinking about them recently and wondering if  a reissue was likely - they were distributed by Recommended Records in the early 80s so I was going to ask there. More RIO than Zeuhl from what I remember, but excellent (if rather dark) stuff with fantastically powerful rhythms.

If they had their 'Dromm' label distributed by Recommended then let's hope for a reissue soon. Last I heard was Ultima Thule (or possibly NWW's Steve Stapleton) were gonna reissue everything (singles, tapes and Hansten Klork) on one cd. Fingers crossed !

This is full-on Zeuhl !
