I don't remember. I think I googled the words progressive rock. Then PA immediately presents itself, faster than Gonzo in the Muppet Show (" Did anyone say progressive rock ?")

I had been banned from dozens of other forums from computer geeks to stamp collecting anoraks and wanted to upset some sporty types.I thought how about those poseurs who hang off the sides of mountains?
I was googling "prof rock climbing" and hit a "g" instead of the "f" and found myself here.

The rest is history and this is a true story.

Early this year i was surfing away hoping to find information on Prog bands and history, PA kept coming up again and again, and i found myself spending far too much time on this site (a good sign) so i was won over. The best thing is that PA is designed well. it is so user friendly, and you can have an intelligent (or silly) conversation without every other word being an 'F' word, some rock sites are full of these, it puts you off.  Also PA members are such a friendly bunch!!! OuchLOLEmbarrassed

The internet is such a great leveller - age, class, religion, sex, no barriers - why, you may even find yourself exchanging posts with a real rock star!!! Thumbs Up

I think PA is the best Prog rock  information source you will find, and it's getting bigger and broader all the time - big thanx to all hard working admin, especially Ronald and Maxime for founding PA!ClapClapClapClap

One of my friends, who really got me into prog in the first place, is addictted to this place. At first I thought, with all the free music like Pandora.com and Singingfish out there, why do I need a site like this? Then, when my own collection of prog expanded, I realized the value of this guide to help me weed out the crap before I bought it (thanks to "Hold Your Fire" by Rush...). I spent more time here, and finally decided to join the forums.
Many Bothans died to bring you this information.

I was trying out a piece of software called Grokker - as that's what I do for a living (ie, I test software); I wanted the Pro version, but pressed return too early.

OK, I didn't press return too early - just my little joke - but I have been researching Prog for a little while now, and so that was the first search term I used.

I particularly wanted to zoom in quickly on sites that had free mp3s - and, of course, this site came top.

The link just takes you to the company who make it - and a terrible, basic version of what I tested - which was a fantastic graphical affair that provided a load of "bubbles" that you could drill down into and get specific data very quickly. The version at the link is text-based and dreadful - don't use it

I like to list, organize, label, categorize every bit of info about the albums I own (very anal retentive... Embarrassed). Back in 2003, I was googling various obscure prog bands and kept landing on the this purple/orange home page with the cool pic. I couldn't get over the wealth of information available then, and that's way back then.

I may not post often but I do check the album reviews daily and always enjoy reading you guys.

I was writting reviews in Rateyourmusic.com and received a PM from a guy called Prog Lucky inviting me to be a reviewer in PA, of course I joined inmediately but the next day Ronald sent me mail telling me that PA had also a Forum and that was perfect.

I've been member of several forums, but never for such a long term as in this one and plan to be here for a long time.

This past weeks in he Mountains without reliable Internet were a nightmare, no Prog Archives is almost as no food.

Well, I found this site by accident when looking for some info on VDGG.

Same goes for me. Except the muppets and I really don't remember the exact word I googled.
