Wouldn´t it be a good idea to have a "Prog Related and Proto Prog" type of Amnesty. About ten bands could be admitted into the archives at one time! Lets face it, we are all (I presume) getting tired of talking about the same bands (Queen and Deep Purple) on those small lists! Lets get all those 60´s and 70´s bands in there all
in one gigantic move!
How about it?

I do not think you undersrtand the sheer amount of work.
Plus getting in the Archives Slade, Mud, Abba and Bay City Rollers will probably not please you either. (nor me)

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

Thank goodness I didn´t mention having rock/metal reviews in the future!
Well, seeing that I have everyone´s attention, I just thought I´d point out one glaring omission in the prog metal section...
Kiko Louriero!!

Greg, I'm with you as always! Unless you really want to include Abba and all those other wonderful bands Hugues mentioned (on second thoughts, maybe Micky would like to have them... considering his notorious musical skeletons in the closet!).
A propos, Hugues: what happened to The Doors' proposed inclusion? |

Thanks Raffaella, I knew I could count on you!
I agree it could be a bit risky, there are already strong rumours that some of the Symph team would want to open the doors for Duran Duran and Soft Cell!!l Edited by WaywardSon - August 09 2006 at 11:43 |

No, Greg, you're wrong on this count... It was the other one who wanted to open the doors to Barbra Streisand and Gary Numan!

An image of Micky singing along to "Woman in love" and doing his best Barry Gibb falsetto voice suddenly springs to mind *shudders*

I'll get right on adding John Tesh. He's Neo-Prog for sure.

Yeah, and Duran Duran and Soft Cell are Art Rock... or perhaps we could put them in Symphonic? So Ivan would've a fit, and I would be left to rule the roost....

Soft Cell have done a really weird unusual long song: forgotten the title, very bizzare tune, not that I'm saying they are Prog, goodness No I heard it on a dutch alternative/progressive station Radio Seagull. |
