I hesitate between these four :
Supertramp - Crime of the Century
King Crimson - Red
Genesis - The Lamb...
Gentle Giant - The Power and the Glory
Many great albums on my birth year !
I'll cast my vote when I'm sure...
Cheers !

YES "Relayer", but it would be too obvious for everyone So I think --> GONG "You" - fantastic space jazz rock.

Gentle Giant - The Power And The Glory, followed by Red, which is actually a masterpiece either...

I chose Zuckerzeit, though Apostrophe, Relayer and Hamburger Concerto are equals, I figured more forum members are not aware of this ground breaking release.

So many wonderful albums from 1974. I felt like voting for Camel's
Mirage, but it's tied with Relayer by Yes and Starless and Bible Black and Red by KC, aswell as
many others.

RED! With Relayer a close second.

You've just had a heavy session of electroshock therapy, and you're more relaxed than you've been in weeks.

1.Emmanuel Booz / Le Jour Ou Les Vaches ...
2.Opus Avantra / Introspezione
3.King Crimson / Red
They are the top 3 albums for me.

The Lamb for me . Not so much on musical grounds but from the point of the mother of all concept albums. Hard though to discount relayer with the best epic of all time. Focus and Supertramp also deserve serious consideration.

I voted for The Lamb, but Tull's "Warchild" is one of my favorites.

I went with 'Relayer', easy for me, has my fave song. But I do believe it was released in 1975. I know 'Topographic oceans' was released in January 1974. Will check for 'Relayer's' exact release date..

^ highly inspired kosmische krautrock with gorgeous heaven-like ambiences
my two favorites from 1974 are:
- Cluster / Zuckerzeit
- Harmonia / musik Von
(accessible motorik hypnosis of krautrock)
