Topic: Poll this - I dare you Posted: August 02 2006 at 09:37 |
Sorry to bother you with this poll. It's not even that prog related. 80s Uriah Heep is not prog-rock, it 's just hard-rock (they gave up their prog roots after Firefly). I like the albums mentioned in the poll, but am I alone, am I the only one in this situation? Vote for the albums you enjoy most from the list.

Well, here I am answering my own poll. Since no one seems to bother to answer my question, my conclusion would be:
1. the poll is unworthy to be answered
2. you hate these albums
3.you won't admit liking these albums (just kidding)
4.this poll was a bad idea in the first place
So, what is good and what is wrong with these albums?
The question was: Which album do you enjoy from the list?

The answers to the poll don't match the question -
I agree with what you're saying - I've yet to hear any Prog Rock in Uriah Heep, but I still don't understand what I'm supposed to be choosing.

I voted for Abominog. It is quite a good effort. Almos level with the early UH. Why didn't you mention them?
My list goes:
1. Salisbury
2. Loo at your self
3. Demons and Wizards
4. Magicians Birthday
5. Very 'eavy very 'umble
6. Firefly
7. Abominog
8. Wonderworld
9. Fallen Angel
10. Conquest
and thats all I've got. And yes it is prog. Rockish prog!

Abominog was a brilliant response to the new energies of the NWOBHM, but I prefer the "older" sound of tracks like Easy Living, Sweet Lorraine and so on.
Out of the choice, then, Abominog, just because it's so consistently good and heavy - and I once painted the cover on the back of a leather jacket
BTW, is it just me, or did Metallica swipe that cover for "Jump in the Fire"?

I remember buying Conquest and not liking it that much. Their last great release for me was Firefly. Havenīt heard the others on the list.

Where is the "none of the above" option??
"Abominog" - Heep jumped on the tail of the NWOBHM bandwagon not very successfully, Maiden, DH, Leppard et al left them far behind in their wake. Heep were ok in their early days.
