Sweet, I've broken the tie in favour of Rush! Come on people, Rush is a trio and gets more texture out of their instruments than most quintets. I've never understood the hype around Gabriel-era Genesis. Good stuff but not amazing. Just my humble opinion.

Over time, Rush proved to be more consistent in putting out quality albums, whereas Genesis, when Abacab came out and almost every other album afterwards were disasters...

Difficult comparison because we're talking about completely different styles. Genesis was Symphonic and Rush are forefathers of the prog-metal genre. This is probably one of the reasons the poll is so close.

A pretty uneven poll in my opinion. The two bands are very different. I prefer Rush, though I love Genesis aswell.

Depends on my mood. I'm inclined to vote for Genesis. They're music is much more cerebral to me. The only thing cerebral about Rush is the lyrics, which are usually amazing.
Rush is a rock band that plays progressive music.
Geneis is a progressive than plays in the rock genre.

I don't know. Genesis is wearing off, and Rush is still high up there on my playlist.

I cannot choose here! And I don't understand your point in comparing these two bands... Their music is quite different too.

Nobody can truly take Rush against PF! Think about Echoes, DSOTM, WYWH, Animals, TW, all classic albums!
Seriously... Pink Floyd rules!

Genesis all the way. I think we need a poll like "Genesis vs. the rest of the civilized world." Or "Rush vs. porn."
