It's totally out of control.  Considering how many new members select some permutation of "dream theater" as their nick, not surprising I suppose.  Of course, they arrive and think it's either clever or novel to compare their gods to some lesser, mortal band.  Wink

I don't know how it can be handled - would the admins put a moratorium on DT polls?

DT polls that lower their reputation as you said Tlossy.. Sometimes its just like, DT vs (something really isnt music and very "low")

But, the ultimate most annoying thing is *uhuk someone who always complaint about someone else's tase of music...

I don't know guys, DT's reputation can not be lowered with any polls, it's already below the ground level for me.

Yes, even big fans like myself are getting sick of it!

Well, looks like the stuff this morning was a backlash by more senior members making some silly polls (DT vs. The World, for example) - but as Guigo mentioned, the admins can't do much about the n00bs.  I am surprised TheProgtologist didn't close some of the sillier polls, though, as he has done so in the past.

I just had no idea they were so popular with the younger set!

According to my latest poll it would appear that people prefer Europe to Dream Theater... and 2 people would prefer Vigil in a Wilderness of Mirrors to both of them.Geek

I wouldn't mind it if the DT polls were DT against bands that were at least in the same genre and posters would be able to do a logical and interesting comparison about what is better about both bands, but "Dream Theater vs. King Crimson" on this site is like "ELP vs. Miles Davis" on a jazz forum.
