I agree that valedictory is a perfect end to the album considering proclamation as the beginning track, but advent of panurge is definitely the best opening track. Well, not only the best opening track, but certainly one of my favourite GG tracks overall. Its a great song! Then said he fair Pantagruel My name is Panurge and I have come from Hell. ^ Awesome. Awesome to the max.

The Advent of Panurge most definitely, followed by The Runway.

" Faithfully their vow was made and from that day they were as one."
Yep-- even the closing lines of the best opening track are BRILLIANT!

Prolugue. It also has a great name for an opening track Advent Of Panurge isn't bad either, and the sound of breaking glass of Runaway turns into a nice rythm.

Absolutely Advent of Panurge, though followed closely by Proclamation, which is followed closely by Interview, which is followed closely by The Runaway... MY GOD this band rocked!

'The advent of panurge'
Although so far I've only heard this, and 'Pantagruels Nativity' and 'Proclomation' which are all excellent. I'm slowly waking up to Gentle Giant.

I thought Pantagruel's Nativety was an obvious choice, but even Giant is more popular.
