Topic: Song You Like, But you don't know why Posted: May 18 2006 at 20:20 |
Through the years many songs i have enjoyed without knowing why, but one sticks with me no matter what:
Rainmaker - Kansas
Have no idea why i like this track...i would love to hear if anyone else likes this track as well, and if you have any tracks that you like for no apparent reason
|
If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.

Lakeside Park - Rush
It's a very simple song. But maybe it's simplicity is what makes it beautiful.
Another one, Also Rush is
In The End.

"Northern Lites" - Super Furry Animals. No idea why, but it makes me really happy every time I hear it.

I know why I like certain songs. Either is some good melody, good chorus, great riff ect.
I haven't yet liked a song and didn't knew why I like it. That would be strange.

The ending of Fly on a Windshield, into Broadway Melody of 1974 by Genesis always makes me really happy.

Tool - Intension
If you think about it, there's not a lot happening in there, but for some reason it takes me to another world.
Radiohead - Idioteque
I am so excited when listening to this track ... but it just goes through the same chord progressions, the singer whines all over the song, and the drumming line is the same dam' thing.
Rick Wakeman - Ocean City (in Time Machine)
I love how the strings and those loud bass notes make the rhythm. The funny sounding synthesizer soloing is lovely.

There are a lot: Surely and Land Ho (Supertramp), Free Four (Pink Floyd), Abacab (Genesis)... are "minor" songs I really like.

The "best bass player" thread got me on a train of through that led from Glen Cornick to "Inside" by the Tull. Now there's a fell-good little ditty if ever there was one!

I have no idea why I like the UK-contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest 2006... I even started liking Texas Lightning from Germany... guess it must be fun and, in some strange way, entertainig me... and I love Kate Bush's "Don't push your foot on the heart-brake" ( from "Lionheart" ) and this semms rather unusual !

Quite embarassing but for some unknown reason I enjoy Europe's "The Final Countdown" and Nevermore's "The Heart Collector".
