I went to the first show last night, in the Heineken Music Hall, Amsterdam. It was GREAT! If you are able to, make sure you get a ticket. Don't miss it! Big smile

First they showed us some rare, long-awaited video material of a certain Frank Zappa live show for about 40 minutes - I won't reveal it but I think the diehard fans will know what I'm talking about. After that the band played for about 2 hours and 40 minutes (!). Here's the setlist:

Help I'm A Rock
Hungry Freaks Daddy
Let's Make The Water Turn black
Florentine Pogen
Pygmy Twilight
Idiot B as t a r d Son
Cheepnis
King Kong
Don't Eat The Yellow Snow
St Alphonso's Pancake Breakfast
Father O'Blivion
Inca Roads
I'm So Cute
Trying To Grow A Chin
City Of Tiny Lights
Punky's Whips
Black Page # 1 and # 2
Peaches En Regalia
Montana
Village Of The Sun
Edchina's Arf (Of You)
Zomby Woof
Sofa # 2

Encore:
Camarillo Brillo
Son Of Orange County
More Trouble Every Day
Token Of My Extreme (instrumental)

As you can see, all classics. I was very pleasantly surprised that they opened with Help I'm A Rock, one of my favourites of the first period! Big smile

Some pics of the show, found on the Zappa.com forum:

How was Steve? Unfortunately they don't perform near my place ... I can only hope that they're recording it!

Vai was great! He only performed on a couple of songs though. He had two solo's, of which especially the first was great! He also played two "solo's" with Dweezil. Two great guitarists "duelling" like that was fantastic to see/hear. Big smile

For the curious (if there are any LOL), here's a video of the solo Steve Vai played on Zomby Woof:
