Genesis, Jethro Tull, Dream Theater, Camel, and ELP out of the popular ones.  Of course there are tons of the less successful bands I don't care for.

mmmmm... I disagree in part here.
A flash Before my eyes is really great, but I really really really like much the first and last two legs (healing colours of sound 1, healing colurs of sound 2, my shoes revisited) of THCOS.
The great nothing is a good songa, though lasts (IMHO) 5 minutes too long and loses itself a bit in the middle.

Neal Morse has a certain tendency to exaggerate in lenght and complexity. A composer that pours too much sugar in his works...

I'm having difficulty getting into Mars Volta...  Frances the Mute tracks feel so long-winded and full of hot air that I'm inclined to call it fart rock at this time.  Ah well, art is three-quaters fart.  However, I think I will grow to like it.  Most music I come to really like takes time to grow on me.

Try De-Loused in the Comatarium.  I ind it to be overwhelmingly better than Frances The Mute.

Mars volta is a bunch of hot air IMO. I honestly can't stand their music or the amount of hype they get. I find them to be extremely overrated.

Yes i know, it can be sound stupid that "proggy n'sync", just a joke...what i try to say is that i found spock's beadr music to be Ok, a good music; but i can't stand the voice, for me, ruins almost all the songs.

    Here we go:

1.POWER metal and its unnatural union with prog-metal...thousands of just boring bands

2.Most from prog-metal(Pain of Salvation,Fates Warning)...and many others... .But I ADORE Tool and Opeth!!! DT is not in my hate-list too

3.YES

4.RUSH

5.Avantgarde stuff - Zeuhl/RIO/Experimental.There are few really great bands, but most of these freaks are fakes. Why are they SO overrated?Am I missing something?

6.Raga rock.I dislike oriental stuff

7.Prog-electronic

8.The Flower Kings/Spocks Beard.Equally dissappointing bands.No hate towards them,but they're SO usual...

9.Some Neo acts - also too predictable(despite this statement I like Neo ) - ARENA,PENDRAGON,TWELFTH NIGHT etc

10.Trent Gardner and everything, connected with his musical activity

NO HATE!!!They're just my LEAST FAVOURITE BANDS!!!

I would have to say Dream Theater becuse it is not prog to me at all.

When it comes to real dissapointments I would have to say all Triumvirat albums after Pompeii and ELPs Works (both volumes)

I've found Dream Theater and Spocks Beard to be disappointing. Oh, and Sky!!

for some reason I just can't get into Yes.
No one knows what the purpose of it originally was or if it had a purpose at all. Personally I think it was a pure artistic creation from the beginning.

scratch that - I just started listening to the stuff on the Prog-page again, and they are actually a really good band. I'm still not partial to the vocals however.
