Camel the Snow Goose, boy! what an overhyped overated let down album that was just a Mike Oldfield clone that was just a load of cliches and so predictable, the first time I listened to it I could literally predict every note that was going to be played before it was performed.

ELP - "Works vol.2" and "Love beach" (two tragic albums made by my favorite band)
King Crimson - "THRAK" (I just hate this album ! It isn't real King Crimson)
Pink Floyd - "The Fianl Cut (all is disaster there...)
Yes - "Open your eyes" & "Union"

Most disappointing band: Sigur Ros - I find them really boring, the songs seem to go nowhere.
Most disappointing album: Dream Theater's When Dream And Day Unite (I have the official bootleg When Dream And Day Re-Unite, which is much better than the original one )

I can't stand Spocks Beard. Too commercial sounding and the vocals are terrible. So are the lyrics.

The Snow Goose is an amazing album and it is in no way elevator music. I doubt you could predict any movement in that piece before it happened. The Snow Goose utilized so many brilliant musical formulas, chord voicings, reharmonizations, etc.
Like in track 5 (Fritha)
Latimer goes from an E to an Esus4 (a typical movement)
Then the progression goes as follows
E, Dadd9, Dm, C, D
If you didn't notice, Latimer uses a chromatic series of chords to create a signature and unreplacable sound. Thats just one of many theoretical pinnacles scaled with this brilliant work. Not to mention the use of vocals only as instruments, etc.
I'm sorry you're too much of an elitist to enjoy such intelligent and spectacular music. I'm sorry you can't appreciate the beauty and artistic royalty of The Snow Goose.

This has to be the worst thread ever invented. All it is is people insulting bands then fans of that band saying something to the extent of "you suck, this band is great. I really hate this band ". I hate negative threads!!!!!!!!

I've never gotten into Gabriel era Genesis. I pretty much grew up on Collins led Genesis. When I tried to give them a chance, I thought, "What's the big deal?" Give me the Collins/Rutherford/Banks/Hackett eras any day of the week.
I've also sampled King Crimson and also can't find anything to like.

Or maybe we can take it for what it is and accept the fact that it's somebody's opinion. I don't like music that some of you find essential, and you probably don't like a lot of my music. I'm fine with either. I'm not changing anyone's mind and they're not changing mine.

I agree I hate to hear negative things about so many great bands that have been mentioned! We all have our own opinions! What band i love the next person might not. Who cares as long as you like them & you are happy!
