Seems that the drugstores have run out of Lithium lately in some countries.
I believe it's time to close this thread

Stupid arguments. Just ignore the radical opposing view that you have. I love the Mars Volta's new and innovative (breath of fresh air) progressive music. I know that their lyrics are not nonsensicle (their albums are actually very symbolic.) "Tenth..." can think what he wants and that's fine. It doesn't change me from completely disagreeing.

I don't think he's ignorant. He just had an opinion radically different
to most of those in this thread, and just so happened to voice it in a
somewhat confrontational manner. Though it pissed me off when he
started telling people how little they know about music and such.

I have to disagree, I am far from ignorant. You should read deeper into your observations Rael. It would do you much good. I am out to anger no one. I am simply a diehard proghead, thats all.

It is funny how everyone played right into his hands. His only goal was to piss everyone off, and he won. I don't care what he thinks, and no one else should. I like Mars Volta, and I don't care if it is prog, emo, or just crappy music in general, because I like it.
Don't get angry at him, I don't. I pity him, because I pity ignorance, and people who enjoy the degredation of what gives other person enjoyment. We all know these people. When you have something you like, or a bit of bad news, they always have something negative to say, because they hate the idea of someone else being happy when they are miserable. They think, if I am miserable, everyone else has to be. This guy is just a miserable human being. I think he needs a hug.

Oh I agree, Sinfields lyrics were always thematic, I'm reffering more to the Wetton/Bruford era, when in fact live recordings have different sometimes absolutely ludicrous lyrics.

I don't know much of the lyrics of KC from the 80's onward, but the Sinfield era and even the Wetton have very siginificant and meaningful lyrics. Sure they don't sound coherent at first listen but you have to know the background to understand them. And as for TMV. Frances the mute is a concept album and I'm pretty sure that they aren't "nonsensical space fillers". You can check on one of the threads that the user named "Lindsay Lohan" made about the interpretation of some lyrics and the story. |

Ghandi, you're a fool. I guarantee I am more intelligent than you. I tried to end this argument maturely but of course some predictable drone of society wanders in and stirs emotions up again. I'm a troll.Look mommy, talking monkey (pointing at Ghandi 2)
