Another newbie

Greetings and bleatings all, I'm another new user in this place.

Guess I should say hi, but it takes me so bloody long, but hey, what of it sure, heh.

Anyhow, me is James. 21 years old. Irish (unfortunately). I listen to a lot of different music, including some of the harsher genres of metal, but progressive rock will be my first and final bedfellow. Having been brought up on the gently atavistic strains of "In the court of the crimson king" will teach you a lot of things. Funnily enough when all around me were singing "old mcdonald" inside in kindergarten, I was singing along to "Epitaph" and bits and pieces here and there.

Yeah, I'm a crimson fanatic. So much so that I attended all the dates of the 21st century schizoid band's gigs whilst I was still living abroad. Have yet to see the real deal in the flesh but lets hope they make to Ireland sooner rather then later.

Bands of mine include, King Crimson, Moody Blues, Yes, Hawkwind, Secret Chiefs 3, Estradesphere, Emerson Lake Palmer (we all have copies of Tarkus somewhere), and lots more.

Hope to be a regular contributor to this place.

Titties and beer, in general bring a smile to my face, but if I may bring my mind out of the gutter for a second (only a second, hahaha), I agree. When you have personnel like that in a band together then well, you’re guaranteed an aural overload of unbounded fabulousity. In other words, it fookin’ rawks, man.

Thanks you Peter, only too happy to represent the home country in this here place. I would be a Limerick gentleman, (although Limerick folks really don’t know what the meaning of gentleman really is). And ditto on the great Horslips. The old man has both the albums you mentioned and well, I considered them a musical education like no other. And well, can you get a more blood thirsty battle anthem then the one and only An Dearg Doom? Hell no. I could listen to The Tain for an eternity and a scratch. Hail indeed.

And ditto with the booze. It's an ancestral thing, ya dig. Hehehe, cheers again, friends.

My mother was born in Ireland, so I've been to Ireland quite a few times. I think it's wonderful! And Guinness and Murphy's taste great. That's REAL beer!

How can you live there & not drink Guinness; the quality of the drink you get there far exceeds any of the thin stuff we get in England.

I'm right with you on the effects of cider, too - there is nothing worse than a cider hangover..... believe me, I know . at least the only ill effect of Guiness is on the poor sap who follows you into the loo the next day
