Havent heard much xylophone in music.... Maybe some zappa, king crimson, a jazz outfit called sonic animation.... and from a band called "Prop", who did an album called "Small boat Rough Sea" a few yrs ago (which I adore)....

But my personal favorite comes from Bill Bruford.  The intro to the track "If you cant stand the heat" (from the Feels good to me album) always turns my head beautifully.

I love the sound of the vibes thou.  Should really get some Gong.

I really like this jacket, but the sleeves are much too long.

Rather predictably, Knots wins it for me too.

Xylophone = Effin' mahvellous.

I just realized I know absolutely nothing about tuned percusion instuments.

No, I think it's an Mbira or thumb piano (?) played by Jamie Muir.

if it is xylophone then love is how you make it by gong would be an
obvious contender.

pierre moerlen's solo in the very end of mike oldfield' when wind chimes pt2 is awesome: he uses a 1 s delay and still gets a perfect synchronization!

ED MANN is criminally underrated!

Anybody please remember Robert WOOD with me?, he played xylo and toured a lot in France in the end of 70ees, I saw him live in solo performances : unique electric sound ( he was mentioned close to Hendrix for sound and energy in newspapers ) He was the one and his music was kind prog in opposition too.

wish to get some news once ( hope for happness )

...of course Moerlen, Bauer, Underwood
