Topic: bad but heavily rated ? Posted: February 27 2006 at 21:06 |
Is it possible that a "bad" album could be reviewed enough times that it would end up on the "top albums" lists (albeit near the bottom ? An example (and one of almost everyone's favorite albums to bash): Invisible Touch. It usually is around 2.5 stars, but has over 100+ ratings. Currently, the 100th album in the list of Symphonic albums is Tantra's Delirium with 4.83, but has only 6 ratings. Could there reach a point where it could get enough ratings, enough "good" or above ratings where it could end up on the list ? True, I know the "math" behind it would prevent it from getting high on the list, still it seems enough 3 ratings could push it onto the list. Just a thought. Edited by Thyme Traveler |

On my own website I modified the algorithm so that the bad ratings aren't considered for the "popularity" of an album. MAybe some day M@x will also modify the algorithm here ...
