Everyone knows that Yes is absolute garbage, they have never done anything cool like epic songs and albums. I think that it is only fitting that Yes Rush Gentle Giant Opeth Pain of Salvation Dream Theater Therion Genisis King Crimson Marillion Frank Zappa Jethro Tull and Pink Floyd all get removed as well, music is overrated I mean, come on, people on this site must be doing something wrong, everyone watches MTV now because they sure as hell know real music, can only come from power chords and music turntables. |
I think I know what a power chord is, but what is a music turntable?
I agree, I love that stuff they play on MTV and FUSE. it rocks. it really answers the question once and for all. You can make a lot of sound with those things are your hips and not make any music; and you can so it for years, decades . . centuries? Nothing like clarity. I want my MTV.

Well, everyone else was questioning the validity of other bands, so Lord Qwerty felt like taking the time to focus on a band he doesn't really feel matches the criteria of 'Progressive'. After all, they were never as innovative and diverse as the Beatles, as emotionally charged as Radiohead, or as influential as Deep Purple. (There are EASILY a hundred metal bands for every prog band). That, and they are FAR less consistent than any of the aforementioned bands. Also, this is the band that popularized the notion that you had be a vituoso (Whatever that means!) to be considered a 'progressive' musician. These are Lord Qwerty's technical and moral reasons why he does not consider Yes to be a progressive band.
Therefore, he believes that they should be removed from Prog Archives immediately.

we all seem to be going for the one band who are Prog Rock, I mean this in a roundabout way. I have such sweet dreams when I listen to yes and all my friends and all the good people I know get the same feelings too.
I understand we all have to have a view, so LQ yours is no disgrace for creating such a sad argument (IMO) for creating this obscure thread and you and I know you are just been humurousbut they do write wonderous stories and everyone should create a ritual to listen to them every week THEN they will feel the full heart of the sunrise from the south side of the sky. Life is bad enough but without yes then I feel I could end up close to the edge and an owner of a lonely heart

Here's a few more Prog Carry-On film possibilities;
Carry On Doctor Z.
Carry On Screaming (Featuring Ian Gillan).
Carry On Henry (by Rick Wakeman, of course!)
Carry On Follow That Camel
Carry On For What Seems Like Eternity (by Yes).
I can just hear Kenneth Williams saying "Oooh, Mellotron", and Sid James saying "Kayak, kayak, kayak"
Which means there has to be;
Carry On Mellotron.
