I first searched for steve morse and didn't find him, so I though i'd make a poll and see if he would be a good candidate for inclusion to progarchives. Well, it appears he's already featured on progarchives, (which is good!), but there goes my poll... so I just changed a few words, voilá, let's hear what you think about his albums!

I just love it, especially High tension Wires. It's utterly beautiful and has some great rythms. Steve Morse is a great musician and instrumentalist , he can play the acoustic guitar like a chembalo or bring out violin-like sustain from a electric guitar. Most of all he's got an amazing sense of time and blends blues, jazz, country, rock and metal in spectacular way.

Check out some samples here!

I love the Dixie Dregs and like most of Morse's solo work, especially High Tension Wires and Southern Steel.I just recently got Major Impact and Major Impacts 2,and think the latter is also pretty good.

And Progzilla,Morse is in the archives.

Steve Morse is one of my favorite guitarists, and High Tension Wires is my favorite of his solo stuff. Also The Introduction, Coast To Coast, Stressfest, and the underappreciated Stand Up.

Also like the Dregs a lot, especially What If and the live stuff.

Got to see the Steve Morse Band twice back in the 90's in a small club setting...outstanding!

I also saw Steve 2 other times where he performed on solo acoustic. Once was as the opening act for McLaughlin, DiMeola, DeLucia back in '83.  This was the first time I'd ever seen him and I was blown away.

Later he joined the trio on stage for the encore and kept right up! I became a fan for life that night.

So much music. So little time.

I go way back with Steve Morse. First time I saw Steve was with the Dregs in Ga. back in '77 before they even cut their first album. Although they did release an independent promo album called "The Great Spectacular" earlier which I still have a copy of. They would play in clubs all over Atlanta as early as '75. Great guitarist!
