That's just a trick, or a very useless guitar... If I were that guitar player, I would be struggling with the vortex to a paralel univers that is eating mi guitar...

Wanna see some actual weird and functional instruments? Check this out:

Who is that supposed to be playing that thing.  Why souldn't it work?  As long as you have some type of removable bridge, like some acoustic players use to change key, you would be in business.  I bet it sounds like sh*t though.

o_O

But those guitars just have a different body shape, they're not really that odd.

Some interesting instruments made in the Orkney Islands - they sound amazing too!

Well the one in the original post seems photoshopped.

The ones Syz posted, though, are very cool

I don't think that the guiatar is made by photoshop or anything like that. Glenn Branca is a very serious player / composer, kind of like Fripp.
I'll try and add him to the archives, but i'll need albums first

well, i'm curious about how this sounds like, given that you get 2 different positions of the sets of pick-up: maybe the sound from one set of pick up is different from the other one: it would probably create a very colorful sound...IMO the heavy weight at the end should compromise the fingers motion, even if the leather strap is solidly installed...
