I agree with what both Miracle and King of Loss said above me.
And, Dream Theater.

Strange comparison:
- Dream Theater: 100% Prog Metal band that could be placed nowhere else.
- Porcupine Tree; Mainly Neo Psychedelia band that defies any real categorization.
Compare Dream Theater with Symphony X or the hundreed of Prog Metal bands that have been added.
Or Porcupine Tree with Hawkwind, Pink Floyd, etc.
This is absurd.

i agree that PT isn't really metal. DT is far harder to get bored of,
so i voted for it, but porcupine tree are still one of my favorite bands

Dream Theater has such amazing song writing capabilities, not say that PT doesnt, but I enjoyed the writing in DT much more.

I think Porcupine Tree are better to create music as a group, thought musicians are way better in DT. But the music of PT is more original and different, while DT sounds oftenly the same IMO.

Porcopine Tree has not much to do with prog. metal so it does not make much sense to compare them to a leading prog. metal band.

I don't think PT is prog metal at all, so the comparation is rather useless.
Nevertheless, my choice is not difficult, Porcupine Tree.

I agree with everyone that says that Dream Theater should not be in a poll with Porcupine Tree. I also agree with everyone that likes Dream Theater more. Dream Theater just as amazing talent that very few bands can equal.

Porcupine Tree has very little material that could even remotely be considered metal.
