I have just looked at this guy's ratings of the top 30 albums in the chart. He has rated 17 of them.

14 are rated 1* including CTTE, SEBTP, TAAB, Foxtrot, ITCOTCK, Moving Pictures, Red, Pawn Hearts, Larks Tongues, Octopus, Moonmadness, Second Life Syndrome, SFAJT, and Aqualung.

3 are rated 5* - all Pink Floyd.

He has reviewed a number of other albums i(ncluding one album twice!) with 1*.

This is not objective reviewing/rating. It makes a mockery of the site.

I request that

a) all his ratings should be deleted
b) he should be banned from the site

I agree, these people have no good use for the internet.

OK, I'm not going to get involved in examining all the ratings without reviews, that would be a simply impossible task. I do keep an eye on them though for any clear abuse.

In this case though, I think the point is fair and well made. All the 28 ratings are 1's except 3 for Pink Floyd which are 5's. A clear attempt to manipulate chart standings. I have deleted all the ratings.

I would emphasise that this is very much an exception though, so please do not start any witch-hunts. The real solution is in the ratings without reviews discussion.

Banning reviewers from the site is not possible at present, as you don't have to register to post a review anyway.

 ^  why though they already have a good amount in the top 100.  i dont think he should be banned.  but i agree that what he did is stupid.  what a joke.  if that is really his taste then he needs to grow a new pair of ears.
