How long of an epic? Shorter epics (like 8-10 minutes) or long epics (20+)

One likes to believe
In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless Compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity

Dang, this is a tough one. I've narrowed it down to The Flower Kings, with Transatlantic and Dream Theater as my runner-ups

Supper's Ready is my favorite epic, but it's the only one Genesis ever did, so Yes.

Guess who I voted for. They did an epic that is 42 minutes worth of perfection.

WOW this is a tough one! Had to go with Symphony X because of "Odyssey", "Divine Wings Of Tragedy" , "Through The Looking Glass". Runner-up to Rush then Spock's Beard.

Symphony X over Spock's Beard, I'd have to question that.

As much as I love "Supper's Ready", "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", "Echoes", "The Plague Of The Lighthouse Keepers" or other stuff, it has to be YES: "Close To The Edge", "Gates Of Delirium", "Awaken", "The Revealing Science Of God" or "The Ancient"..., they are the (uncrowned?) kings of epic prog.

Disc 1 OWNS Disc 2 though...
My opinion: Tie between Genesis, Yes and ELP

When it comes to Epics no one does it better than Yes!
I mean...have you heard Close to the edge or gates of delirium recently? I shall speak no more...
